Ever noticed the term jabber in the Message application in the mac OS. I was a little bit confused on why was this unknown name appearing. A little nit of search revealed the source. And surprisingly it is the source of IM - Instant messaging.
Jabber is the original name of the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP), the open technology for instant messaging.
