Piracy saves Microsoft

So why is microsoft still not been able to replaced by the free linux? Its because of the widespread penetration of this user friendly OS through piracy. The average end user after using the pirated versions prefers the same in their proffesional course. Lets say the pirated version are just like trail period of the OS but there is no limit for that trail period.
