Neo Technology is more efficient*

*Conditions apply

The technology which is phasing out incandescent lights out of market is the Compact fluorescent lamps which is umpteen times more efficient in terms of containing energy and reducing carbon emission. But the disposal is a bit of concern as it contains mercury and needs to be disposed properly where as the old incandescent could be safe in any open fields.

But its seems taking the mercury risk is worth considering the impact that this type of replacement would do on reducing the tonnes of carbon emission if all or majority of incandescent bulbs are replaced by CFL's provided they are disposed properly according to guidelines.
