firefox.exe - entry point not found error in xp : solution

The procedure entry point_except_handler4_common could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll
I just renamed dwmapi.dll to dwmapi.dll.old
This one works as the dwmapi.dll is a file for vista and turning it off in Xp works ....
NOTE-Need further information regarding risks.
