Samsung topples Nokia's top position in India

The Korean mobile manufacturer, Samsung with its wide variety of smartphones and lower end handsets has finally toppled Nokia in India from its top position. Samsung's volume market share in November stood at nearly 38%, and value share at 35.2% according to market research firm GfK. The figures beat the nokia in terms of both value and volume.Nokia has to be worried a lot about this trend because it was the company that boasted of the volumes topp slot for years. The aggressive marketing of Samsung coupled with wide range of selection has shown results for Samsung.

In one word: awesome

But expected. Samsung - with it umbrella branding strategy, creation of a seperate identity in each segment, full range of products and channel discipline was always on the ascendant
