Windows 8 - better late than never?

Why did Microsoft sit silently when millions of iPads and Samsung tablets were selling like hot cakes ?  The tablets initially perceived as an entertainment gadget gradually creeped into the workspace, and now it's an integral part of workspace.  Imagine a tablet giving you Word, PowerPoint, Excel on your fingertips. Isn't it a wonderful thing that your hand held device is a mini replica of your notebook? An experience of Office in hand held device would definitely be on many present consumers of tablets, but both iOs and android has addressed this issue in a less comprehensible way.  A tablet running Microsoft Windows 8 with a rich touch experience and flexible hardware connectivity might have the potential to replace PCs and Notebooks. But all these things can happen if it is a bug free OS. Microsoft might be a bit late but it has the potential to change the game enormously if it delivers the perfectness in Windows 8.
