Overcoming inertia : 3 simple steps

Newton's first law defines inertia as
"An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force."
Now many of our life has stagnated because of the same inertia that keeps us away from doing new things we are suppose to do. We tend to be satisfied with the routine things because of the psychological inertia we develop to avoid the uncertainty of moving away from comfort zones.
Here are 3 simple steps to overcome that inertia
  • Writing down the goals : The writing down really works and I am not bluffing some Harvard or Yale study here but quoting an almost authentic study in Dominican University which I stumbled upon because I was also as skeptic as others. So here is the link for all the doubters http://cdn5.sidsavara.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/researchsummary2.pdf
  • Break routine and do newer things : Now this is always easier said than done. But back it up with the 1st way and it seems far less difficult. So the next time you are afraid of breaking the routine just write down your new to do thing to break away from the routine.
  • Believe in yourself : Believe that the new thing that you are going to accomplish will ultimately turn out to be good. The initial setbacks are always present but the belief will be able to get you to the goals that you had written.
