Finance minister's logic of big taxes for big cars might well be right but in reality it will pinch both the struggling auto industry and buyers equally. The proposed hike in the duty paid by the SUV manufacturers of the vehicles is from 27 per cent to 30 per cent. The approximate figures for the SUVs post this change somewhat looks like this, of the entire burden is passed on to its customers.
